ABOUT THE VILLA

Set on the edge of Gharb, a small hamlet, a traditional 18th century farmhouse which has been restored to a high standard whilst retaining its original features. The spacious accommodation is based around a central courtyard which leads on to a walled garden area with a large swimming pool (11X5m). It has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and is a short distance from some of the most picturesque parts of the island's coastline.

The groundfloor level has an open-plan well appointed kitchen and dining area, and a large living room. Both these rooms are spacious with many traditional features, and have french windows leading directly on to the large courtyard, ideal for al fresco dining and barbecue, and with substantial plantings of bougainvillea, jasmine, passion flower, honeysuckle, and other shrubs. There is a utility room with shower, toilet, sink, and washing machine. A gateway leads down to the garden and pool area which is private with open views and sunny position.

The upstairs accommodation leads off a fine arched walkway with
wonderful views. There is an impressive master bedroom with its original
split-level birthing room , and two further double bedrooms, one with a
double bed and the other with two single beds. In addition, there are two
single beds if needed, and the sofa in the living room converts into a double
bed. There is a well-appointed and spacious family bathroom. An intriguing
stone spiral staircase leads from the courtyard to the roof terrace with
spectacular views of the island. The house is situated a short walking
distance from the nearest shops and amenities. There is a maid and pool
service between lets.

Gozo Cuisine

Gozitan/Maltese cuisine is the result of a long relationship between the Islanders and the many foreigners who made Malta their home over the centuries. This unique marriage of tastes has given Malta an eclectic mix of Mediterranean cooking. Of course, no Mediterranean meal is complete without a robust red or chilled, crisp white wine as accompaniment. And there is nothing better to accompany local Maltese dishes than a wine produced on the Islands. Local speciality dishes include a huge variety of fresh seafood, a hearty rabbit stew and wide range of local vegetables.
